About Amy Derby
Based in the Chicago area, Amy Derby is a freelance writer and legal assistant.
Amy has provided freelance writing services to corporations, healthcare groups and non-profits in the United States, Africa and Australia. She has worked as an independent contractor for law firms of various practice areas and sizes in New York, Seattle, San Diego, Kansas City and Chicago including Hull McGuire (corporate/government/environmental law), Marler Clark (food safety law), Parker Waichman Alonso (consumer law), and Eric Mayer's Law Office (military law/criminal defense). From 1999-2004, she was a paralegal at DLA Piper's Chicago office in the litigation and bankruptcy practice groups.
Amy's work has been published by USA Today, the Chicago Tribune and LIVESTRONG.com. She is also a volunteer writer for the American Foundation for Children with AIDS. In her spare time, Amy is working on a novel.
